Analysis of Figurative Language in the Album Eternal Sunshine by Ariana Grande

Abstract
In English there is a lot of figurative language that people do not understand. Figurative language is a way of expressing something in an unusual way. This study focuses on the album Eternal Sunshine by Ariana Grande. The aims of this study is to finding the figurative language used in the album Eternal Sunshine and find the meaning. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method by collecting data, classifying data and analyzing data. This study found 26 figurative languages, consisting of 12 metaphors, 7 personifications, 2 similes, 4 hyperboles and 1 paradox. Figurative language makes song lyrics more expressive and more beautiful.
