Financial reports are an important tool in assessing the health and performance of a company. For beginners, financial report analysis aims to understand the financial structure, identify the company's strengths and weaknesses, and make data-based decisions. The analysis begins by becoming familiar with the three main components of financial statements: the income statement, which reflects profitability; balance sheet, which shows the financial position; and the cash flow statement, which describes the company's cash flow. The basic techniques used include financial ratio analysis (such as profitability, liquidity, solvency and efficiency ratios) as well as performance comparisons between periods. Simple steps such as reading financial statement notes, understanding industry context, and using historical data trends are also recommended. With a systematic approach, beginners can build a strong basic understanding to support financial decision making.
