Abstract

Anemia status is determined based on the amount of hemoglobin, because a low hemoglobin level is one of the supporting data to determine a person affected by anemia. The general objective of this study was to determine factor analysis of hemoglobin levels with Body Mass Index (BMI).This research is a descriptive study with cross sectional approach. The study population was all prospective donors in the Surakarta Blood Bank Technology Study Program in September 2019 totaling 30 respondents. The sampling technique used was accidental sampling. Data collection methods use secondary data and primary data. Data analysis techniques are presented in the form of frequency distribution. The results of this study found that the majority of respondents aged> 20 years were 21 respondents (63.6%), the majority of respondents were female as many as 26 respondents (78.8%) and the nutritional status of the respondents were partially normal as many as 21 respondents (70%) with hemoglobin levels included in the category of no anemia as many as 13 respondents (43.33%).The conclusion of this research is the level of hemoglobin in prospective donors in the Diploma Program at the Academy of Technology of the Blood Bank mostly do not have anemia and have a normal nutritional status.
