Abstract

Voluntary disclosure is the disclosure of information that’s not required by regulations, where companies have the freedom to choose the type of information they wish to disclose. Its purpose to make information that can be support the decision-making process. Voluntary disclosure is becoming increasingly important because mandatory disclosure is not sufficient to meet the information needs of investors and other parties who need information. This research aims to examine the influence of short-term risks, namely litigation risk, financial distress, and leverage on voluntary disclosure in primary consumer goods companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2020-2022. This research uses secondary data from the annual reports of primary consumer goods companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for 2020-2022. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, a sample of 36 companies are obtained with the number are observations are 108. The regression data analysis method use to test hypothesis. The results of this study indicate that financial distress and leverage effect on voluntary disclosure. Furthermore, litigation risk has no effect on voluntary disclosure.
