The Jayengan Health Center Surakarta in 2017 managed to refer to 1,898 general patients. 122 patients of them was patients from maternal and child health clinics. In the last month of 2017 referral of maternal and child health services increased by 37 patients. The purpose of this research was to find out how the referral system in maternal and child health at the Jayengan Health Center. The type of research used was descriptive research with a coss sectional approach. The subjects were 4 health staffs in maternal and child health clinics. The object was a referral system for health services for mothers and children of the Jayengan Health Center. The results of the research on the referral system for health services for mothers and children of the Jayengan Health Center generally adopted the operational standard procedures that already existed in internal and external referrals. Especially for the case of pregnant women there must be an assessment with the scoring form "Poedji Rochjati" before the referral was done. In referral patients there were problems including the facilities and infrastructure, internet networks, lack of numbers of staff, and the referral system itself. In general, it can be said that the implementation of a referral system in the health services of mothers and children of the Jayengan Health Center has been good.
